An Inconvenience or Two

1/9/2017

Beginning today, January 9, 2017, Go Comics will be updating its website for the Sherpa users and subscribers. (Sherpa is the amateur side of GoComics.) This means that during this time, the Sherpa site will separate from GoComics and will remain apart until the new version of Sherpa is complete. After the update, Sherpa will once again become a part of the GoComics page. If you have subscribed on Go Comics, “Suits and Guarders” will temporarily not be seen on your GoComics page until the new site is built and incorporated. My “Suits and Guarders” cartoons (all archives and new cartoons) will still appear on the old Sherpa site:

I admit this is inconvenient but I really can’t complain. The updates are supposed to include many new features. And they have even offered all of us Sherpa creators a pro-rated refund for the inconvenience.

Panel 5: Sure looks like a grudge to me!
This week on Sherpa:
Here are the two comics that are running this week on Sherpa. Like many of my cartoons, these are based on a true story. I was scheduled to attend an in-service on a weekend, but they needed guards that weekend also. So I had to work while I watched my co-workers suffer through an in-service before rescheduling to attend another that same month. I remember being a little chapped by the whole experience!

I had read about the history of the calendar as a history assignment but I basically had to dig for a few facts to say what was on my mind. Even though I try to keep “Suits and Guarders” as timeless as possible, I did put the month it occurred in the strip. But honestly, I don’t hold a grudge about the matter. You believe me, right?

    Author

Ian Johnson was born with a crazy cartoon character perspective on the real world. “Suits and Guarders” is loosely based on his life as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a local pool. Any resemblance of characters in this work to persons, drawn or imagined, is purely coincidental.
